When a geeky, sixteen-year old's only friend is out of town for three more days, he writes a song. He (Pat) then discovers a Battle of the Bands that is coming up. When the trip ends, Pat is heartbroken about his new girlfriend. They vow to keep in touch though. With only a few days before the competition, Pat, Austin , and Mandy try to pull off a miracle by winning the Battle of the Bands.
