Don't bother

If you hope to find out more about the ouija board this is definitely not the book. The first couple dozen pages were experiences of using the ouija board to help lost souls find the light. Pretty much what you read in the "look inside" is all there is pertaining to the board. The rest is about Bob's spirit rescue work such as exorcisms and blessings, seldom using the ouija board. With all due respect. Too much devoted to his joining the ""Rosicrucian Orders" (whatever that is) and his journey and research. This would be better as an autobiography, which is NOT what I was looking for. I was going to say I was surprised that Bob found a publisher for this book, then saw that HE is the publisher. Total waste of money. I'd give it 0 stars if I could.

A good beginner to intermediate textbook, with excellent online material, though it's a bit pricy

First, I'd like to talk about the online material that comes with the book.

For the one that I got new, it came with a product code. That code allowed me to access the online activities, which is really what distinguishes this book from others. On the website, about 2 or 3 times a week there are a range of activities, each one graded by either the computer or an instructor, though you're not penalized for trying and you can try any of the computer-graded activities as many times as you want to get 100%. This makes learning French a more easygoing experience (compared to the extreme difficulty in learning it with other programs), where all it really asks of you is your time and effort. And it's very strict with both. It gives exact times, after which you're still allowed to try the activities, but you can't get a grade, so you're stuck with whatever grade you got on the activity before it closed (0% if you didn't start it).

That said, the product code is one-use, after which the code is extra, so you have access to nothing but the book. And the book alone is pretty good, as French books go. You might call the book one for beginner French, but the book assumes you know some French already, while not going to the advanced (and oftentimes boring) French that later books can get into. If you've seen any French textbook before, then you know the type. There're a lot of hand-drawn scenes and people, mixed with photographs of real people, cultural information, and verb charts. All pretty run-of-the-mill stuff, but with good quality. The problem is, without the one-use product code, the book becomes much more expensive than it's worth. Amazon offers 30 used books, with the lowest being about $50. Now, while $70 for a used book with a product code is worth it, I think, after that's been used up the book's actual value drops to about $30 or $40. So, its worth doesn't hold up after the one-use product code is used, and you'll probably have a heck of a time selling the book once you're done with it.

Good cheap book

Bought this book for 2 dollars for college class. Make sure your professor wants this edition and not a newer. Nothing special about the textbook but just super happy it was only 2 dollars. Most college textbooks average $100 each.

Not exactly a biogrophy of Death Cab For Cutie.

As the title says i was looking for somewhat a biogrophy on the band and how they started and maybe some insight into Death Cab For Cutie. This is not bad by any means, it has almost all of the newspaper interviews with the band, but it does ask some good and bad questions in between, nothing really challenging and stimulating for the mind to read. I am not dissapointed to much, as it does end in 2010 and it is the most recent accounts of Death Cab to have come out, but it could have been better if it was not a biogrophy on Death Cab.

This was a total bore. Repeated itself throughout.

This was a very repetitive book. Said same things about Artie's life as you continued from interview to interview. All of this was already covered anyways in Artie's last book which I thoroughly enjoyed. I finally gave up on this book and deleted it from my Kindle. I couldn't finish it. Sorry Artie - still love ya!

Phyllis Rowland's Ghost Writer is an adventure I look forward to, every night. I get so involved with the story that I am not certain just what I will do when I have finished reading it.

Not only the history but the 'true life' details are captivating - you feel like you are actually there as each event unfolds.
I do hope that there will be another "Phyllis Rowland Adventure/Genealogy/History/True Life/Discovery Book".

The new Bukowski?

This is quite simply a seminal masterpiece. The way that the author manages to identify the insanity within the system that he has become a part of, while maintaining his own mind, is truly wonderful to behold. I was drawn into his life, and the world of his enticingly eccentric protagonists, to the point that I couldn't wait to turn to the next chapter and indulge myself in the next wonderful tale.

In my mind, we have unearthed the new Great American Novel here. If this book does not win the Booker Prize, I will eat my hat (something that would no doubt not seem out of place in Mr Pruitt's masterfully constructed world).

Thank you Mr Pruitt, for sharing this beautiful novel with the rest of us. I have already passed this on to all my friends and colleagues and am eagerly awaiting their wonderment as they discover this incredible new author.

A Guide to the Process of Learning Soul Retrieval

This is the only Shamanic "how to" book I have found on the retrieval of lost soul essence... it provides a step-by-step guide for the practitioner. I read this book before performing my first Soul Retrieval and know that, while guidance is provided by Spirit, this book gave me additional confidence in the procedure. The Essence of Soul Retrieval was supplied to me, and others, as students in an Advanced Shamanism Course.

Catching the essence

Here is an excellent balance of the practical and theoretical in soul retrieval. While painting a rich picture of the ritual and symbolic aspects of this shamanic practice, Walter never looses sight of the fact that healing occurs at a higher level than just getting the right words, movements and artifacts. It's as if, after he has outlined the procedure down to every minute detail, he says "Forget all that. Love and mutual respect are all you really need for healing to happen." (The quote isn't an actual quote of Walter's words . . . it's a quote of my grasp of what the message of the book is!)
