This is absolutely incredible. Not only is it touching, but it also makes you think, and I agree with the previous reviewers when they tell about how it makes you feel like you're not alone and that others are feeling the same way I do sometimes. Some of the poems and thoughts, especially, make me think "Wow, this sounds exactly like me."

My 18 yr. old Julie read some of your poems, She thought about them for awhile and said she can relate to you, and "how old is this guy" and I told her you wrote them as a teenager. She said " somethings don't change" Maybe what and how you thought about life is still going on today, just that this generation is so connected with computers and cell phones they have no privacy to gather their thoughts and think. Everyone is on like a light bulb all the time.

"The book is very good, I received my copy yesterday and started reading today. There are a lot of common threads running through it that we have all felt and shared at one time or another, whether we admit it or not. It's not a mirror of Greg's soul, its a universal guide to emotions. I like that you can pick it up and start reading at any point and don't have to start at page 1 and is also good when re-read. Excellent book! I actually loved living back in the 70s, at a simpler time, and this book brings you back."

"Greg opens himself up wide for a view of the lonely chasm that is a part of everyone's existence at some point, a part most of us would rather not expose. Raw emotion here triggered strong memories of the worst days of my adolescence, but end effect is cathartic, not depressing. In writing so openly about loneliness and romantic disappointment, it makes us feel less alone."

All I can say is that, although poetry isn't something I'd just choose out of the blue, this is absolutely incredible. Serial Bore

Serial is, in this reviewer's opinion, a stereotypical bore. All of the girls are pretty or beautiful and the boys are all 'hunks'. The book concerns itself with only the high school elite and their parents. The murder-rapes are all alike (evidently variety is NOT the spice of life). The killer completely eludes the police; no clues are found. Is he that proficient or are the police ineffective? When the final curtain is pulled aside to reveal the killer, the reader has to wonder at the utter unraveling of the killer's mind. How could one so "in control", lose it so completely? The book is free - at least it is worth the price.

Poorly written. Verb tense switches constantly. Most paragraphs are massive information dumps. The dialogue is stilted and unrealistic. There are multiple uses of the same descriptor in the same sentence. The entire story is told. It reads like a steam of conscious first draft. Oh, and the story itself is boring.

I continued to read this book simply to see how much worse this author's grammar and punctuation could get. I was embarrassed for him! There is no way any part of this book was proofread. If you want to learn how NOT to write, read this book. I don't mean to be cruel, but this book should not have been published.

The Gatling Gun was sometimes called by Dr. Gatling, Colt Firearms Company and the United States Patent Office as a battery gun, rotating battery gun, rotating cannon and machine gun. When the "modern" machine gun was made, it was referred to as an automated machine gun. These patent drawings provide a step back in time to view a technically advanced 19th century weapon that changed history.

Reconciled by the Light

I believe it must have been incredibly difficult to write this book without agony. Work like that is not for the faint of heart, and readers, but especially the newly bereaved, can be encouraged that there is light at the end of a long, painful journey.

The book is very short and gives a factual account of Josh -- Mr. Pappalardo's deceased son - last days on earth, his death, and the days following his funeral. Josh -- through a number of mediums -- tells stories about his transition and growth, the friends he met and the help he received. He talks to his parents and siblings with love, humor and a new found wisdom, and he also gives advice to his former school friends. It is an incredible journey, and it is an honor to be taken along such a path.

Uniquely Poignant, Ultimately Hopeful Telling

In this real life account and reflection written by his father, Joshua (Pappalardo) is the "typical troubled teenager" who makes that one, most unimaginable, and very fatal decision. However, as the whole story is told and through Josh's letters "from the other side" he also becomes - transformed through his journey "within the light" (of knowledge, forgiveness and love). It is a uniquely poignant telling, yet ultimately hopeful in both a metaphysical as well as that most basic, painfully human sense. The journey for the Pappalardo family no doubt continues. I pray and hope that parents, friends and others who are hurting, even "broken" by such tragedy and sorrow, will find this book. Let every Joshua be found. And let every parent, child, and loved one, be fully reconciled . . . within the light.

Beautiful Book!

Anyone who has had a loved one die and who misses them, should read Reconciled by the Light. It is Ron Pappalardo's beautiful account of the healing of his relationship with his son, Josh, following his son's suicide. It is impossible to absolutely prove the existence of life after death, but this book provides thoughtfully-written and very persuasive evidence of three crucial things. The first is that the people we love do not in fact, disappear into oblivion after they pass from this life -- they are born into a new life! The second is that, by Heaven's grace, those whom we love are often able to continue growing, and indeed can find increasing happiness and joy in their new lives. The third is that sometimes we are given the grace to be able to hear from our loved ones who have passed on, and that they benefit from our love and prayers just as we can benefit from theirs.

If you miss or long for someone who has passed from this life -- a spouse, a parent, a brother or sister, a friend -- you need to read this book. I believe that it will give you a lot of insight and hope!

Her love affair with non-fiction and with health genre in general, began during her junior year of college when she was having faced by numerous obstacles due to her epilepsy disorder. Hoping and praying that she would be able to finish college and not let her epilepsy disorder get the best of her, she decided to research her disorder hoping to find out more about her disorder and ways to cope with it.

Sadly, there were not many books written about epilepsy during that era. The few books written were by doctors and the medical terminology flew right over your head. Determined to find the answers to my questions, "How can I graduate college when I am constantly having seizures?", "How can I become a success in life and not let epilepsy destroy my hopes and dreams?", "How do people with epilepsy cope with their disorder?"

I decided to write an article to epilepsy foundation and asked them to publish it. I wanted to learn how others coped with their disorder. I received hundreds of letters from all over the United States and Canada. I decided to use the knowledge I gained to help myself and others by writing a self-help book called, Epilepsy You're Not Alone. Writing that book changed my life. Letters poured out from readers thanking me for writing the book. I never realized how powerful words could be. My greatest gift was not figuring out how to help myself, it was being able to help others who struggled from the same problem. There is no greater gift in life than the gift of giving.

I graduated college, received an Associate's Degrees in Business, and then went on to receive a Bachelor Degree in Marketing and Advertising, but in the end, I changed my career choice to journalism. I graduated Richard Stockton College in 1996.

I began writing seriously in 1994, penning the manuscript that would become Epilepsy You're Not Alone. I held many jobs during those first years as a writer, finally settling in (much to our delight) to write full time in 2000.

Chillemi is an active member of her community and helps organizations in New Jersey. She has written features for journals and newspapers. Her articles have appeared in dozens of newspapers and magazines in North America and abroad. She won an award from the Epilepsy Foundation of America in 2002 for her help and dedication to people with epilepsy.

Born in 1972, Chillemi was born in New York and lives in New Jersey with her husband Michael, and their three children, Michael, Alexis and Anthony. The family pets include two Shih Tzu's, Rocco and Princess, and two birds Elmo and Tweedy.

When she is not writing, Chillemi chases after his three Shih Tzu's, takes long walks, hits the gym, and goes to all her kids' football, soccer, wrestling, basketball and cheerleading practices and games.

I am thirty-two years old, married with three children. I am a writer, and I recently published a book called Epilepsy, You're Not Alone, an inspirational self-help book that teaches people with epilepsy how to live a healthy and productive life. I have appeared three times on News 12 on the talk show New Jersey Women and have had articles written about my efforts to help people with epilepsy. In addition, on June 26, 2002, I was honored an award by the Epilepsy Foundation of New Jersey for Outstanding Volunteer Award. I have had epilepsy for 27 years. I am now in the process of having my second book, Epilepsy and Pregnancy, published. Dr. Blanca Vasques is co-authoring my book. I have recently written a children's book called My Mommy Has Epilepsy, which Exceptional Parenting is reviewing for publication.
