I bought this book a while back and found really nothing of valuein it that you cannot get, in more depth, from other sources.
It does NOT go into detail beyond principles already outlined in other books and actually teases on the Kata presented, with no explanation, which makes it seem like more of a commercial for what this guy is trying to sell.
It is a waste of time and money as it has nothing new to offer, seeming to capitalize on the research of others WITHOUT adding to it.
It had potential to be a great addition in the way of pragmatic Karate, but it did not even come close.

The Joy of Writing

I am the author of Creating Kata.This book took a lot of research in order to make sure that the facts of creating kata by the traditional masters of karate would come to light for the first time. It was a joy to write this book and be able to list the formula for modern day traditional karate-ka to construct their own kata, thus giving yet another deeper way to refine their skills.

Although seemingly short in length (83 pages), one must study the material to fully understand and develop their own kata. This is not a book for the novice, but rather for the more experienced black belt. There will be four more volumes in this series to come.

Another book by a fake grand master.

This book was written by a delusional person who does not have the first clue about karate. The old kata origins are forgotten. How could he possible claim to know how to create a kata in the old style if no one actually knows the origin. Does he have a time machine?

His writting reads like a self promoted grand master who is selling snake oil to make money. Do not buy this book. You will be sorry if you do.

THE Book for the Homeopathic HCG Diet

After you are familiar with the HCG Diet through an explanation of how it works (something you've found on the Internet, from your health practitioner, or ideally from a basic HCG reference book), then you need THIS book if you have decided to use homeopathic delivery of the HCG. It is a book of FAQs about homeopathic HCG (which can be controversial)--almost every FAQ I could think of! I found this book so helpful, so reassuring, and so positive. I have referred to it many times on my HCG weight loss journey (I am currently in Phase 2). It is most helpful on Phase 2, the time when the drops are taken. But I cannot imagine doing the homeopathic drops without it!

Remember, this book is for those people FAMILIAR with the diet who want ADDITIONAL information about the HOMEOPATHIC way of doing it. It's not a basic reference book.

Excellent book!

This is a breezy, easy reading book with great insights and tips. I really liked her explaining/warning that carbs crave carbs. Breaking the addiction, which hcg does, is the door to health and weight loss. I've used hcg for weight loss but never the homeopathic version the author writes about. Still, the book is excellent.

When this book was delivered to my door. I sat down and read it from cover to cover then went back again 3 more times to highlight what I felt was important to my dieting with HCG. This book should be purchased with any other HCG Diet book that is sold. I can't say enough about this book and how much it helped me stay on track with the HCG diet.

This was a terrific immersion into Erik's world. The variety of stories was satisfying on every level. This is a must for every Phantom phan out there. You will close the book, feeling sated. The authors have done an excellent job, and kudos for giving their proceeds to a very worthy cause. Erik would be glad.

Phantom Variations is an anthology produced by members of The Write Stuff, an online community of book lovers. Each author has contributed compelling tales written out of a deep and abiding love for the subject. Phantom Variations will provide many hours of romance, mystery, and fluff -- as well as the occasional morbid tale -- that you'll enjoy reading over and over again. (This book has it all.) Many of the stories in the collection are short enough to finish in one sitting, but two are novel-length. It is well worth the money spent, and all proceeds go to the American Porphyria Foundation. Very enjoyable

"Phantom Variations" is a terrific collection of short stories based on "The Phantom of the Opera." The stories are divided into the following categories: Drama and Romance; Mystery and Horror; Humor.

I enjoyed the entire collection of stories. Each one gives a different glimpse of the world of the Opera Ghost. All but one of the stories feature Leroux's original characters and are set in the 1880s. The remaining story is a contemporary Phantom-like romantic tale which I found very charming.

Concise, simple, timely investment advice for the physician starting in practice or the busy professional

Dr. Jacob Haft taught my father at the Mt Sinai NY Residency training program and inspired him enough to pursue Cardiology fellowship training in New Haven, CT. Approximately forty years later he taught me in my Internal Medicine residency training program at St. Michael's Medical Center in Newark, NJ. Dr. Haft was the long time Chairman of Cardiology who has won several awards for his dedication to the practice of medicine and the training of house staff.

My favorite story concerning Dr. Haft is told by my associate program director Dr. Ted DaCosta. Dr. Haft had been feeling poorly over the July 4th weekend and had a terrible abdominal pain with a grayish discoloration. He was sent home on Cipro after being seen by an ER physician in Englewood, NJ. After a visit to his trusted college a gastroenterologist he obtained some x-rays early in the morning, put in a Swan-Ganz catheter and an arterial line all the time holding his stomach and attended a house staff morning report presentation. At the conclusion of the morning report presentation, the cardiology fellow showed up with a stretcher and Dr. Haft revealed that the upright chest x-ray revealed that he had perforated his intestines via a diverticula that became infected and had free air under the diaphragm visible on chest x-ray. He had surgery and recovered nicely. Dr. Haft showed a commitment to teaching that did not waiver even when his own health was in jeopardy.

More about the book, Dr. Haft speaks to how he got started investing and gives clear strategies for finding which equities that deserve buying, when to sell those equities, options, margin accounts, preferred stocks, and even how to keep your spouse happy about investing. His strategies have worked well for him and in this short book (that can easily be read in one evening) he outlines everything you need to know to succeed in the markets. This is a great book with plenty of patents on electrogravitics. I recommend the entire series. I am in the process of collecting all the books in the series. Buying the books helps our future.

I recomend this book to anybody who is into UFOLOGY. This book does not portray in any way that Aliens do not exist or their technology has never been left here. The author is simply showing technologies that were filed at the Patent Office. The author in turn explains how these technologies operate in the Sciences that are associated with the technology. You dont have to buy any College Engineering books to understand what he is talking about. You can buy them if you are interested in a career in this field. Maybe you could apply for a job at area 51. If I may comment on these technologies. Tesla simply provided the foundation for these technologies. The engineers at Wright Patterson base or Area 51 had to use their education in Physics and Electrical Engineering to figure out how these Alien UFO's realy worked. Lets face it.
It took many man hours and collaboration from Boeing and other industries to figure out how these things worked, when the technology was figured out the Electrical Engineers had Attorneys file patents at the Patent Office. This is where these books come into existance, to expose the fact that the Government are a bunch of liers and have been decieving us for many years.
I'll make an example General Moters have been trying to develop a fuel effecient engine since the last gas crises of the 1970's and still can't come up with one. The point is our engineers can't develp anything on their own without steeling or reverse engineering somebody elses technology. If we are in 2009 and our American engineers still can't come up with an engine that gets more than 20 miles per gallon, do you think they can come up with these antigravity devices without steeling somebody elses ideas (i.e. aliens) Thomas Edison stole ideas from Tesla, because again our "brilliant inventors" cant come up with anything from scratch.
No more rant this book is very good, I give it 5 stars.

IF YOU COLLECT WESTERNS YOU NEED THIS

SHANE is here as is MY DARLING CLEMETINE but you get these in just about any listing of westerns. Better yet you get reviews of dozens of "B" shoot-em-ups that you may never have heard of so you can make a judgment as to whether you want to add them to your collection. You also get comments about the discs (and sometimes tapes) so there's no surprises if you decide to try them. I have passed on many movies from companies that I knew just didn't care about the quality of their product.
I know you can't restore every movie ever made but there are decent prints out there if the video distributors would only look for them. This guide lets you know if something is worth paying upwards of twenty dollars for just because you can't find it anyplace else. My only wish is I would have liked a larger format and placed between hard covers. I do use my books but I still like to keep in as nice a shape as possible so that when it is time to pass them on,I can get a good return on my investment. I recently sold a book that I paid $12.50 for many years ago for $900 dollars. .

Good starting overview, but overwhelmed by the amount of material

This jaunty wisecracking book gives an introduction to Hyperion OLAP system administration topics. For a Hyperion beginner like me, it's a reasonable touch-all-the-bases initial exposure, but inevitably it's a mile wide and a foot deep -- it's hard to be otherwise because Hyperion involves a lot of connected systems with many features and settings. I discovered several areas that helped me maintain our Hyperion system before going off to real training -- the book introduces the topic then you can investigate more in the Hyperion documentation. I'll keep the book around in case there are still uncharted areas for me to discover. The book shares maybe 10-20% with the non-administrator's guide "Look Smarter than You Are with Hyperion Essbase" which is end-user-focused. My only complaints are the sketchy index and the binding which doesn't allow the book to lie flat.

This is a highly practical task-oriented book on ESSbase (and Hyperion) by one of the most widely recognized experts on the platform. Ed's humor makes what is otherwise dry material highly readable. I *highly* recommend this book.

Robert Shields is a syndicated sports writer who has covered the Arkansas Razorbacks for over a decade with his columns. He is also the author of other books including "The Economics of Sex." In this book, he compiles his sports columns that covered the drama that surrounded the Razorback Football Program during the last years of coach Houston Nutt's career with Arkansas. The book captures the raw emotions on both sides of the debate of this embattled coach.

A Razorback House Divided?

I just finished reading "Scarlet Fever: A Razorback House Divided". I had not previously read much written by Robert Shields and after reading his book was glad I had not.

This book is anything but impartial. He continually referred to the Offensive Coordinator, Gus Malzahn, as "Das Wunderkind" and to the parents of the Springdale Five as "Little League Parents". Purporting to give us the inside scoop he ignores almost everything which produced the soap opera that existed at Arkansas during Nutt's last two years.

I would never recommend this book to anyone that loves Razorback football or just football in general. He brags all through the book about his great Economics degree but the book is so chock full of typo's and bad spelling that it resembles a ninth graders effort.

His ignoring all the salient points which led to Nutt's downfall is unforgiveable in a book supposedly written to explain it all.

I give Robert Shields an F- for this joke of a book.

Pathetic

Mr. Shields tries to be a media person but fails like this book will. He was never able to get a press pass because he's not a real reporter. He didn't do any real investigation and doesn't know anything that hasn't been told to him but by one side of the story. I have no idea how he got the drivel he wrote published but it is sad that someone did it.
He can't even get the names right so he refers to the people with sarcastic nick names instead. If you are a Hog fan then please don't spend your $ on the same garbage you can get out of the trash can at the curb once a week.

The best thing this book could be used for is the same thing the diary in " Dances With Wolves " was used for after the Calvary returned to the post.

Please realize that R. Shields is not an author.

IQ dropping....with....every...page....I...turn. Mr. Shields went from being a bad joke on message boards to being a bad joke of an author. When will it stop? Instead of buying this book, burn ten dollars and have your buddy kick you in the nuts. You'll be better off and save money.
