Excellent book on alien abduction

There have been several books dealing with the alien abduction phenomenon but "Experiencer: Raised in Two Worlds" stands out for its uncomplicated delivery. Too many alien contactees attempt to mystify, demonize or sanctify the phenomenon; the author of Experiencer simply tells it like it is. William Konkolesky's earliest encounters with other worldly beings could easily be written off as childhood imagination. However, as he grows up and the visitations continue, intensify and even witnessed (in some cases) by third parties, the skeptic's case for fantasy soon goes out the window.
The book is well written and to the point. It leaves the door open for a sequel that I, for one, will not want to miss. It demonstrates that the alien abduction experience is probably both extraterrestrial as well as other dimensional in origin. It makes the point that, sometimes, there really are monsters in the closet.

This book is a real page-turner. I stayed up half the night reading it, couldn't put it down. William Konkolesky has a natural gift for writing and I am looking forward to the sequels. His experiences are very interesting.

Good collection of SAT/ACT resources

There is a lot of good information that is collected in one place. Unlike other SAT/ACT preparation books, this book provides a variety of resources for students to improve their English skills. I personally felt like it was a little overwhelming when technical details are mentioned. The focus of the book is mostly on Emustru and how it can be utilized along with other tools available online. The grading system, analysis of essays and the modules in Emustru are explained in detail. The book gives too many options to a student wanting to prepare for the exam in a short time frame, but excellent for long term preparation.

About the Author
Dan Montgomery, Ph.D., has held dual licensure as a Psychologist and Marriage & Family Therapist for 35 years. I have witnessed Dan and Kate Montgomery develop their Compass Psychotheology approach to spirituality over many years. As a pastor I can say that profound psychological and spiritual insights arise from this model. This particular book clearly reveals who the Trinity is and how they interact with each other and with human persons. People from all faith backgrounds can benefit from seeing how the interpersonal nature of God affects every aspect of the human experience, inviting each person to draw closer to God.

Trusting In The Trinity

Until now the Trinity has always seemed one step removed from my everyday life, but through the eyes of Dan and Kate Montgomery I see how the Trinity relates intimately to everything in Creation. I am fascinated by how their Compass Psychotheology connects the Christian Trinity to human nature, a person's relationships, prayer, miracles, science, philosophy, psychology, and creativity. I came away from this book with a new sense of awe and love for God.

He enters the past on August 6, 1930, the day of the mysterious disappearance of Judge Joseph Crater. Historical records say Crater entered a tan cab on West 45th Street after leaving the Billy Haas Restaurant and then disappeared into oblivion.

In Kinlaw's room, newspaper clippings of the Crater disappearance are found along with photographs of Crater and New York Governor, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who appointed Crater to his judgeship. Crosshairs are drawn over both of them. What does the Navy Captain want with Crater and FDR?

A Good Read

A friend suggested I read this one and although any type of sci-fi doesn't usually interest me I did myself a favor by opening this book. I also let a lot of daily chores slip by me as I opted to follow Mr. Pajer's interesting and complex characters instead of cooking and cleaning. "A Handful of Dust" is a page turner with historical facts brilliantly woven into the story and the author's description of New York City past is fascinating. This story would also transform onto the big screen extremely well.

A Wonderful Book

Mr. Pajer has written a very quick-paced, engrossing story. The book excellently fictionalizes a story blending history and science fiction using NY Judge Crater and FDR into a very enjoyable read. Being from the New York area, I found it very interesting recognizing many of the towns/streets and sights the story takes you through. Although I'm usually not a fan of science fiction, I was definitely "transported" when reading this book. Hopefully, we will see more from this author.

An action-packed adventure

If you enjoy the kind of action-packed stories of the pulp era fiction of the 30's and 40's, you will love this book.
The author has written a thrill laden adventure of a detective's search through time for a deranged character who travels back to 1930 in order to kill the "missing" Judge Crater and Governor FDR in 1930.

The author has done a tremendous amount of research on the time period and the events leading up to the disappearance of Judge Crater to believably weave his characters into these historical events. The author has woven an action tale that moved quickly and it is hard to put this novel down.

I was intigued by his description of the time travel device, the CTC (Closed Timelike Curve) which uses lasers to distort gravity and time. It reminded me of the work of Dr. Ronald Mallett of the University of Connecticut who has theorized that lasers can drag space/time creating a time distortion effect. The author has really done his homework.

This is Robert Pajers first novel, but I hope it won't be his last.

hilarious and moving

I'm so happy to finally see this book come out. Various drafts have been passed around pockets of the American Zen community for the last few years, and now Jiryu has finally put out this "incomplete but final draft for the wide Sangha." It's a moving, wise, and laugh-out-loud funny narrative of a young, idealistic American Buddhist monk training in Japan. The tales of cultural misunderstanding are worth reading--funny and insightful--and the narrator's slow growth is surprisingly affecting. More than anything else, though, this book is inspiring in its portrait of a heart--a raw, clumsy, messy, beautiful heart-- given totally to bodhisattva practice. Five stars!

A Cult Classic in the Making

This funny, candid and warm-hearted first book by Rutschman-Byler is a cult-classic in the making. His autobiographical adventures in Zen at Tassajara Zen Mountain Center and the fictionalized "Gendoji" Monastery in Japan lead the reader on a hilarious romp through spiritual longing, human folly, and a transformative coming of age. No detail is spared, especially the author's struggles, triumphs, and shortcomings. With fearlessness and wit, this Gen-Y author invites a much-needed dialog about the past, present and future of Buddhism in the West. No other book at the time of this review offers such a youthful and spirited sentiment.

This is a wonderful inside look at the modern Zen world, both in America and Japan. The author has participated deeply in both worlds, but remains able to take a realistic look at this. I'd recommend this book to anyone who is curious about what it would be like to live in a Zen community. Highly recommended.

This is a great education coming from a Pro, well established and fresh in the business! Why CDs think and act the way they do. Etiquette in the room, Agencies worth noting, Even hotspots in LA Night Life!! She writes so that you feel like you're actually in front of her, having a conversation. I met Cathy shortly after reading her book for the first time and can testify, there is nothing fake about her! She represents everything she teaches and thus practices what she preaches. In her book she talks about loving actors who are genuinely great people inside. She is this, in the form of a Casting director and educator.

There is SO much valuable information in this book for actors with all levels of experience. I keep it with my audition materials and handy for inspiration. Read this book, re-read, and use it as a reference. It will change your life, or at least your acting career for the better!
